Henderson Hospital
LMS worked on the design build for the development of the 250,000-square-foot, 166-bed hospital, which fills an important need in the surrounding community by offering emergency care, women’s services, surgical services and comprehensive care. LMS provided a remote operated and monitored central plant operation and optimization and complete system analytics to enhance efficiency for this high-performance facility. The hospital incorporated lean and integrated project delivery (IPD), which embraces a collaborative design and construction approach. Doing this would remove the barriers that often come with traditional design-then-build practices.
These and other strategies led to impressive outcomes, including zero lost days during construction, an ENERGY STAR® rating averaging between the 93rd and 95th percentile since opening, the highest HCAHPS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) score among 14 southern Nevada hospitals, a health care-associated infection rate under the national average by 10% for the first 12 months, and zero maintenance costs related to design or construction flaws or omissions during the first year of operation.
In 2020, a $24 million expansion began to include a 25-bed observation unit adjacent to the emergency room, another CT scanner, space for several surgical suites, and improvements to the emergency room entrance and lobby areas. LMS is in the process of fulfilling the needs for the current expansion.
