Lawyer Mechanical Services (LMS), Las Vegas’ leading commercial HVAC company, announced today its fifth consecutive Top Workplaces regional award issued by Energage in partnership with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“We are extremely proud to be a Top Workplace, as it demonstrates our people-first culture,” says John Kotek, co-owner and COO of LMS Building Systems. “Our recognition draws the most talented associates to LMS and differentiates us in the industry as the only HVAC company to receive this award in our region.”
LMS opened its doors in 1969 on Highland Avenue in Las Vegas with just four associates, including the founder and CEO, Tom Lawyer. It has now reached a significant milestone of 55 years.
“In 1969, there were about 100,000 people in the Las Vegas valley,” says Lawyer. “Sahara Ave. was San Francisco Ave., ending at Paradise Ave. Tropicana Ave was Bond Ave. My first job was to start up the largest chiller Trane manufactured at the Stardust Hotel,” says Lawyer.

Over the past 55 years, LMS has grown to 57 associates and evolved to provide equipment and service/maintenance for cooling and heating equipment for nearly every iconic building in Las Vegas, including high-occupancy buildings such as hospitals, retailers, and schools. LMS also services all major manufacturers’ equipment and sells a comprehensive line of equipment parts from its parts store, AC Systems Supply.

Lawyer and Kotek will continue to invest in LMS by putting their people first, strengthening partnerships with manufacturers, and servicing buildings throughout Southern Nevada.

Top Workplaces is a scientific employee feedback survey driven by the industry’s most robust benchmarks. Employees across every industry in the region and the U.S. take the survey. This prestigious award recognizes companies that prioritize their employees’ satisfaction and engagement, making it a significant achievement.

“We share this achievement with all of Southern Nevada because our healthy culture transfers to our clients and partners alike,” says Kotek. “Our commitment to our associates translates into better service and stronger client relationships. As a result, we all succeed in strong business performance.”
